Natalie, 22 years dance experience is a native from Cumberland Md. A graduate of Bishop Walsh High school, Natalie Majored in Dance at Shenandoah University where was a member of the Shenandoah Dance Ensemble & Dance Education programs. While attending Shenandoah she received extensive training in various dance styles with concentrations in Graham, & Limon technique as well as Choreography. Natalie has participated & performed in several workshops and conventions including: JUMP, NUVO, DISNEY MAGIC MUSIC DAYS, KINGS DOMINION & THE ORANGE BOWL. She has attended workshops consisting of Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern & Hip-Hop dance styles. Natalie has choreographed and competed in local and out-of -state competitions including: STARQUEST INTERNATIONAL, SHOWSTOPPERS, & STAR TALENT. Natalie, her Instructors, & Students have had the opportunity to work under the direction of well known Choreographers which include: Wade Robson, Mandy Moore, Nick Lazzarini, Dan Karaty,(judge & choreographer of So You Think You Can Dance), Danny Tidwell, Gil Stroming, Shane Sparks & Mike Minery. Natalie has also worked along side and over-seen choreography for Choreographer, Trey Holloway. Choreography credits include: Bishop Walsh High School Productions: Crazy for You, Footloose, 42nd Street, & Grease. Natalie choreographed for Potomac State Colleges 2005 Production of Bye Bye Birdie, & the 2006 production of Cats.In 2006 Natalie Choreographed & Directed Dancing Our Nightmares, Steppin' Out Dance Ensemble Halloween dance production. Other Choreography /Instructioncredits include:(In Virginia)Greater Washington Performing Arts Center, Metropolitan Fine Arts, Joy of Dance, The Kennedy Center, Dream in Color Foundation, Tiny Dancers, & Shenandoah University. She is a member of the American Alliance for Heatlh, Physical Education Recreation and Dance and DMA. Natalie Recently returned from Northern Virginia where she managed & instructed Greater Washington Performing Arts Center. Currently Natalie is assisting Choroeography for several dance conventions and workshops. She is the primary instructor of the studio and teaches Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary,Musical Theatre & Hip-Hop at all levels.
Samantha Diehl is a native of Frostburg, MD. A graduate from Beall High school, Sam graduated from West Virginia University where she majored in Forensic Science. Sam began her dance training at Frostburg Dance Academy where she danced for ten years. Sam then continued with dance, she became an instructor of Steppin' Out in the summer of 2006. Sam has participated in numerous workshops & competitions, consisting of SHOWSTOPPERS, DENA RIZZO, JUMP WORKSHOP & CONVENTION, TOMMY ALEXANDER, STAR TALENT & WALT DISNEY WORLD. Sam has worked under the direction of choreographers, Gil Stroming,Nick Lazzarani, Mandy Moore, Mike Minery, Dan Karaty, Kim McSwain, Katie Spreadbury, Danny Tidwell & David Moore. Sam has particpated in numerous stage productions, including the 2006 Potomac State College production of "Cats" & Broadway in the park. Sam is the primary ballet instructor of Steppin' Out. She teaches and choreographs Modern, Tap and Lyrical dances for group and solo routines as well as dance company. Sam also assists with studio management, competition & workshops as well as techincal design for shows.
Billy a native of Fort Ashby is a 2003 graduate of Frankfort High school and holds two Associate Degrees from Potomac State College. Billy has been a dancer all his life. He began coaching and choreographing after high school for the Frankfort Falcons Dance Team. He began teaching locally choreography for individuals until 2006, when he began teaching at Steppin' Out. Billy has participated in numerous theatre productions which include: Hair & a Face full of Mama, for Front & Centre Stage Productions. Potomac State College Productions that included: 2007, Chicago, 2008 Pippin', 2009 The Wizard of Oz. He has also held the title of Dance Captain the last three years for Potomac State, as well as assisted with costume design. Billy has attended numerous workshops & competitions. He has had the opportunity to work under the direction of choreographers including: Mandy Moore, David Moore, Nick Lazzarini, Kim McSwain, Dee Caspary, & Dan Karaty. Billy is currently choreographing along with the Steppin’ Out Staff for the concert: “A tribute to MJ", which will benefit the Allegany Arts Council. He is also rehearsing for the 2010 Potomac State production of “Beauty & the Beast". Billy is the primary Hip-Hop instructor at Steppin' Out & also teaches Jazz, Musical Theatre & Contemporary at different levels as well as Choreography for Dance Company & Competitions.
Terri Siller began her early dance training with the Cuppett School of Dance directly under Alzine Cuppett, where she danced several lead ballet roles and won the title of D.M.A. Miss Dance. She later trained with the Washington School of Ballet, Arlington Dance Theatre and eventually the Joffrey School of Ballet in NYC. Terri attended Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA, and later received a B.S. Degree in Education from George Mason University in 1990. She studied four years and received teacher certification through D.M.A.'s Teacher's Training School at Kent State University. Terri is also a certified through the Cecchetti Council of America, grades I-VI, and is currently training for Advanced Professional Teacher's examination. She has been teaching dance at several Florida-based and local dance schools for the past 23 years, and teaches Cecchetti, Lyrical and Combination for the Cuppet Peforming Arts center. Currently Terri is a Ballet & Pointe Instructor at Steppin' Out. She Choroegraphs for group and solo numbers and also teaches during intensive weeks. Terri also writes for Dance Studio Life Magazine.
Jecelyn "Ms. J" has been dancing for 20 years. She began her dance training at Lavale School of Dance, where she danced along with Ms. Natalie. From kindergarten through her senior year in high school she studied ballet, pointe, lyrical, acrobatics, jazz, and tap. Jecleyn then attended Frostburg State University where she participated in modern, ballet, and jazz classes. She has taken part in various dance conventions and competitions including: Kings Dominion, Dance Masters of Pennsylvania, Sophisticated Productions, Starpower, Starbound, Creation Dance Championships, and Encore Dance Competitions among others. In the past 4 years she has been taking ballet, pointe, and modern classes at the Fayette School of Ballet and joining the dance company, Ballet LaFayette, in many productions including Romeo & Juliet, Arabian Nights, Variations from Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty. Currently Jecelyn has become an instructor of Steppin' Out, as well as a member of the Dance Company. Jecelyn is an assistant instructor for ages 3-5, and all ballet classes.
Andy Crosten graduated from Allegany High School and went on to recieve his BFA in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory in 2009. There, he recieved his Pilates Mat Certification from Kim Gibilisco. The program is supported by the Pilates Method Alliance. His over 50 theatre credits in the area include performances with The Cumberland Theatre, The New Embassy Theatre, Apple Alley Players, Potomac State College, Steppin' Out Dance, Broadway in the Park, Maryland Theatre Arts, and Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre. Andy hopes to continue his Pilates classes in New York City in the coming year. WE WELCOME ANDY & LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING HIM AS OUR PRIMARY PILATES INSTRUCTOR!
